I am thinking about building a pond for my backyard. Anyone done this before? I am just in the research stage. I found this helpful page so far.

I run Comcast as my broadband provider up here in Sammamish and I just completed a speed test over at Broadbandreports.com
Your download speed : 2979006 bps, or 2909 kbps.
A 363.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 239374 bps, or 233 kbps.It is too bad (although understandable) that they restrict upload speeds as I’d probably look at putting my externally hosted sites in my home. I wonder how far we are away from the personal server at home for serving up web pages, weblogs and other content.
I know that recently adding video into the mix with my weblog has really opened up the possibilities for communication. I am inspired by Dave’s Travel site for what the future can bring.

A video of Josie’s latest trick. (Requires Quicktime Player to view). This is something I would not have been allowed to do Make sure you have your volume turned up.
Update: If you tried viewing the video and it failed, please try again, I messed up while posting it previously. Doh!Source: WordPress -
I’ve removed my referrers from public view. The referrer spam just got out of control and I do not want to give these sites any free advertising or Google juice. This sucks as dasBlog has a very cool feature that would email me whenever someone pointed to something on my weblog, but now its been infiltrated with disgusting websites that I do not care to promote.
While Googling for a solution to the problem I found a number of automated tools for spaming weblogs, but no whitelists or solutions. Until I can think of a solution to the problem I will remove my public referrers and count on Feedster and Technorati for finding out who is linking to me. The new Feedster links query that is in beta is returning very good results.
Update: I found an even better system with more data on who’s linking to me. Bloglines Citations! Check this query out.

From News.com
Since XM discontinued the PCR, units have fetched steep premiums on eBay. The device, which retailed for about $50, is getting bids of more than $350 in recent auctions, with sellers advertising the unit as “discontinued” and “rare.”
Looks like I missed the boat on this one. I was just telling Lenn last week how I was going to snag one of the PCR units up. I think he was going to get one too. A thread on XM411.com leads me to believe that even if I had ordered the unit last week the order would not have been filled.
My plan was to use the PCR to transmit music to various rooms in my house using the upcoming XM Radio / Tivo link.
This sucks, I bet it will be awhile before XM comes out with another USB based device.

Looks like the next stop will be Winnipeg, then across Saskatchewan, Alberta, into Vancouver and back into the US near Seattle.
If you are willing to steer of off the trans-Canada a couple of hours you can stop by my hometown of
Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Your timing is perfect for a visit to Saskatchewan as the harvest should be in full swing. Make sure you pull over once or twice to ask the farmers in the field how the crops are doing. I promise they’ll be friendly.
Great friends of mine own the Beefeater Motor Inn if you are looking for a good place to stay. You can meet my Dad and the retired farmers for breakfast each morning around 8:00 am.
Dave please, let me know if I should tell them to expect you. They aren’t bloggers, just good hard working country folks.
