  • I ran into the same problem that Jerermy Zawodny and a few others did as well. There is no way on the Audible.com web site to cancel your subscription. *sigh*

To cancel the Audible subscription, I had to:

    1. Search and search their site for where to cancel and opt out
    2. Send a customer service request to ask how
    3. I got an email back saying they need me to call a number
    4. Wait on hold (still on hold now)

Goodbye Audible, I’ll never be back. For future reference if you decide you want to cancel your Audible account, just call 1-888-283-5051

  • Check out here. Its cool (I signed up to give it a try) unfortunately it won’t have all the channels I enjoy, they don’t include all the talk networks that I like so much *sigh*, certainly not a replacement for the now infamous PCR that is no longer available.

  • Scoble and so many others have been blogging lately about Podcasting. I am a super fan of this, if you are not yet, I encourage you to do this:

Burn a few Podcasts to a portable device or even a blank CD and take them with you for a drive, its great content and fun.

One thing though I think Scoble is confusing folks when he calls things great for Podcasting. I think when he says Podcasting he really means for running an IPodder against. To be honest it seems like a lot of folks are talking about how to get the audio onto devices from feeds, but not about how to create the content. Creating the content is where we need the innovation now.

Anyhow, one think to ask am I correct with the following definitions?

Podcasting — The process of creating an audio show of some sort available in MP3 format via an RSS 2.0 feed that supports enclosures

IPodder – The process of getting Podcasts out of the feed and onto your portable music device

    Is this accurate?

  • What an amazing week!

I’ve made it through the first 7 days of the 20/20 program. The past week has been full of big changes for me. The first part is the diet change which has been hard but not impossible. I met with my dietician and she gave me a bunch of vitamins and minerals (fish oil caplets, calcium and daily multi vitamins), a log book to record eactly what I eat each day, the calories and the total fat.

The more important part that she gave me was a box of metabolic protein shakes and a menu for 7 days that looks something like this:

    **Breakfast
    ** Protein Powder + 1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter + 1 Teaspoon Fiber Powder + 1/2 Cup Berries

    **Morning Snack
    ** Protein Powder + 1/2 Cup Berries

    **Lunch
    ** Protein Powder + 1/2 Cup Berries + 6 ounces Tuna + 1 Teaspoon Mayo

    **Afternoon Snack
    ** Protein Powder + 1 /2 Cup Berries

    **Dinner
** Protein Powder + 1/2 Cup Berries + 6 ounces of a boneless chicken breast

I can substitute blueberries, strawberries, blackberries or marionberries in for the berries and a variety of lean proteins for the meals. I am still allowed to have 8 ounces of coffee (black no sugar, no cream) per day, but have noticed that I am not having it very often. I am also drinking over 64 ounces of water per day.

Its been hard, lots of withdrawl symptoms (headaches, grumpyness, moodyness) but not as bad as I had thought. I friend who went through this awhile back recommended to me that I try and taper off coffee and sugars well before I started this first phase. Doing so was a big help and made this a lot easier.

In addition to this I am working out with a trainer 3 times per week (lots of cardio and some weight training) and am working on my own twice per week (jogging).

So most importantly not to ask what I am doing, how am I doing? I feel awesome. I am not hungry throughout the day, I am passed the detox period and the headaches are gone. The workout sessions are great and last night was the first time that I’ve felt a bit sore from my workout.

Only 21 more weeks to go!

  • I just found one written on .NET up on Source Forge via the comments on Carl Frankin’s weblog. You can download an early alpha of it here. Just testing this now on my laptop, let you know if it works.

Postscript: It download sucessfully the Adam Curry’s daily source code and Evil Genius Chronicles adding them to iTunes. It did eventually crash, but for alpha this is cool.
