Since XM discontinued the PCR, units have fetched steep premiums on eBay. The device, which retailed for about $50, is getting bids of more than $350 in recent auctions, with sellers advertising the unit as “discontinued” and “rare.”
Looks like I missed the boat on this one. I was just telling Lenn last week how I was going to snag one of the PCR units up. I think he was going to get one too. A thread on XM411.com leads me to believe that even if I had ordered the unit last week the order would not have been filled.
My plan was to use the PCR to transmit music to various rooms in my house using the upcoming XM Radio / Tivo link.
This sucks, I bet it will be awhile before XM comes out with another USB based device.
