The last few days, Estevan (where Josie and I are currently staying) has been the hot spot temperature wise for all of Canada. The temperatures have been around 32.2 degrees Celsius.
Kevin Armstrong and I took our girls out on Boundary Reservoir for a day of boating. Kevin recently purchased an eighteen foot Sea Ray and we had a great afternoon out on it.
We went cruising, tubing and swimming. The water in Boundary Reservoir is nice and warm. The local power plant takes the water from the reservoir to cool its turbines and returns it nice and warm. The water is much like a heated swimming pool and in addition to swimming it is a great place for bass fishing.
Josie loves to swim and was able to try something new. Kevin has a Sea Doo Dolphin. The Dolphin is battery powered and can be used pull yourself around the water. It travels at speeds up to 3.2 km/h. Lots of fun. We then headed back in town and we all played some more in Kevin’s backyard using his Banzai Slide.
Today, I think we’re headed back out on the reservoir, but for a different pace. This time we’ll go out on a pontoon boat (think floating patio) to sun tan, fish, swim and relax. Should be fun.
Plenty photos over on my Flickr feed, check out the Boundary Reservoir set or the complete feed for the whole picture.
Great break so far, definitely creating some awesome memories for both Josie and I.
