Change invigorates the soul. I’ve joined Automattic as VP, Head of Worldwide Community and Growth. I am fortunate to be working with Matt and team.
Wait who? Automattic.
We build a few products that you might have heard of like WordPress.com, Tumblr.com WooCommerce, Pocketcasts and Day One.
Automattic is a pretty special place. We are global, distributed and asynchronous with employees in over ninety countries. No move required for me, I’ll be working full-time from our farm in Carnation, Washington, USA.

Our Dad, Vern passed away peacfully in Kelowna, Canada last night. Mom and I have been at his side. There is no doubt Dad’s greatest love was family, we all miss him terribly.
When Dad was asked, “Where are you from?” he would always reply, “I live in Kelowna, but my home is Estevan.”
At his request we will have private interment in Estevan and also host a reception to celebrate Vern with our friends and family. I’ll follow up with details later on.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation in Estevan.
Thank you everyone for your kindness, care and support for my Mom, Dad and I.
