I love to cook.
There is nothing more relaxing and stress relieving for me than finding a recipe, following the steps, maybe improvising a bit and tasting the final results.
Over the years we’ve assembled quite a cookbook collection in our home. Some of my favorites are from way back in the past. What’s cool about the older cookbooks that we have is that they are handwritten. Many were created for family reunions, anniversaries and homecomings with family members submitting their recipes. You know nothing can touch my Uncle John’s Nut’s and Bolts recipe or my Grampa Joe’s German Sausage. I’m actually working on a little side project to bring many of these recipes online. More on that in a later post.
Tonight, a very simple recipe was in order though – burgers on the grill. I purchased the patties from Costco yesterday and man they were huge! At least an inch thick which makes them still bun sized and very thick when cooked down. We served with fries out of the deep fryer and fresh onions.
