The For Sale Sign is now up on our home in Sammamish

As I mentioned in my previous post we’re selling our home. In fact the fellow from Sign Pro just left after installing the for sale on our front lawn. I’ve been surprised at the number of inquiries we’ve gotten just from my initial post. One of the advantages of having a decent Google page rank on my blog is that my Sammamish Home for sale post is now one the first page of results for a variety of relevant queries on both Google and Live.com.

All of this got me talking to one of the agents about the power of blogging and our experiences at Microsoft with Channel 9 and blogging as a whole. When you think about it transparency is something that could really help a real estate agent stand out. Not to mention helping ensure that their listings appear on the front pages of the popular search engines.

I believe Scoble created a lot of awareness on his home sale too via his blog so this could work. So imagine what an agent could do as they told the story of deals, listings and offering useful tips on selling your home.

Update: I’ve had a couple of emails and instant messages from folks asking if I’m moving out of the Seattle area or leaving Microsoft. I guess you didn’t read my original post closely. Our plan is to buy a somewhat larger home so my parents can be more comfortable now that they are retired and can visit us more often. (Right now they need to sleep on an inflatable bed in our living room.)

I believe that I have one of the best jobs ever at Microsoft leading Channels 9 and 10. I have an amazing team, wonderful leadership that supports, mentors and coaches me and for that I am very grateful. We’ve got some amazing stuff that’s going to be coming out of our group and company soon and I couldn’t imagine not being a part of that.

Can’t wait to get back to work on Tuesday, this has been a wonderful vacation. Ok, back to home cleaning.
