You know my wife teases me often that I am more Texan than her. :-> I grew up in the small prairie town of Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada. Where the primary industries are oil, farming and ranching. Sounds a little like Texas to me. No wonder I married a girl from Dallas.
So it shouldn’t surprise you that I love good country music. My favorite artist of all time has got to be Rascal Flatts. It is the first artist I copy over to my media library on a new laptop or device and my wife and kids are so sick of Fast Cars and Freedom I think they are now hiding that CD. Their song “Stand” will most likely go down as the Jeff Sandquist theme song, you have just got to love the chorus, it goes something like this:
_‘Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you’re made of
You might bend ‘til you break
‘Cause it’s all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you’ve had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you standEvery time you get up and get back in the race
One more small piece of you starts to fall into place – yeah
One of the interesting things about living life with a blog like this is that people get to see when things are going amazingly well. You also see the bumps along the way too. So lately with everything that’s been going on quite a few folks have asked how I’m doing.
Tonight I returned home from being away from my wife and daughters for about a week and half. I was able to take in a slight detour and visit Mom and Dad in Estevan. What a treat. I needed the break as while all the drama with Robert and Vic my team was finishing up Version 1.0 of 10 as well as launching several new programs for our field that will see us taking Evangelism to new levels this coming year. To be honest, it wasn’t until I got back to Estevan that I was able to unplug and reflect up on everything that’s been going on.
So how am I doing?
Well, after some crazy hard weeks I am now standing, ready to take on a big year at home and at Microsoft.
So happy I went to MGX this year, but oh so happy to be finally back home with my family.
What is your theme song?
